Just Gorgeous!

Hi everyone!

Right now I am at our trailer at the campground. This is when we come up here to open our trailer for the summer and this is also the Maple syrup Festival which we always attend.

arch-home As I said in an earlier post, we have a little booth set up this year and are selling our herb products and a few other hand crafted items. My parents are up here camping too which is wonderful because they are helping watch the princess while we work the festival.

I haven’t take all the pictures I want to take yet so, I will do a post about the festival later. But, I did want to show you one of my favorite vendors. This gentlemen uses old antique and vintage dishes and somehow (Troy can tell you how he does it because he talked to him extensively last year) welds onto the dishes all these beautiful designs. Let me show you.

It is an organization that he is strongly involved with. He doesn’t have a website but, I have his phone number in case anyone is interested.

I just have to get one of these. I just don’t know which one I want! I should say, which one I want most!

Thrifty Things Friday Party #5

Hi everyone!

Well, we are at our trailer at the campground now. This is the week we open up our trailer for the season. It is also the Maple Festival and we attend every year. This year however, we actually rented a space to sell our herb products and some of the things that I have been making. Wish us success!

Okay, now I have to blame dedicate this post to Miss Marty at A Stroll Thru Life! She has gotten us all to look at our cloches in a different light. She has introduced a lot of us to the whole concept of decorating with cloches. She hosts fun cloche parties. Well, the princess is absolutely enamored with cloches. I think just having something untouchable under glass fascinates her. She will sit on my lap as I visit different blogs showing off their cloches and she will just “ooh and ahh” over them. And she tells me that when she gets bigger she is going to have her own cloche. Yup, she really is only 3 years old. LOL

So, as her Easter gift from me, I decided to make her a cloche of her very own. I found a cheese dome at the thrift store that had a wooden knob instead of the glass kind, which is what I was looking for. It didn’t have a base so, it was $1.00. I had found this little Precious Moments finial at the thrift store. It was marked $1.49 but, it was half off day. And I found the cute little fairy at the dollar store. All the other things came from my crafting stash.

Fairy clocheFairy cloche 005 I grabbed an old white salad plate to use as the base. I glued the fairy down and then drizzled glue around her and tore apart a couple of cotton balls to glue on to look like she was resting on a cloud.

Fairy cloche 003Now time to remove the wooden knob and replace with the finial.

Fairy cloche 004Fairy cloche 007Then more glue and a two more butterflies and some cotton ball stretched out and the cloche is done.

I want to thank everyone who joined last week’s party! Here are our three featured thrifty participants' from last week!

1 8oz softened cream cheese

3 green onions

1/2 a cup of fresh grated parmesan cheese

Mix softened cream cheese and cocktail sauce until smooth and mixed.

A Pretty Pink and Yellow Spring Table

Hi everyone!

We actually had some of that rare golden shimmer liquid shining into our home the other day. Yes, the sun appeared for a brief time so, I of course, had to get a pretty table set to pay homage to this wonderful event!

I am using my newly painted pink chargers and the pink napkin rings I made. You can read about all that on this post. I have been so excited to show you some new to me dishes that I thrifted last month. I am so in love with them. And they aren’t even blue! LOL

Aren’t these just so pretty! I just discovered from another blogger that these are vintage 1950’s.

HL PLATEsThe next set of thrifted dishes was this adorable yellow and white  daisy set. Also another vintage set. I do love my vintage dishes!

catsYou will see some other pieces used in this tablescape.

pink and yellow table 018I know I don’t have to say it but, I am going to  anyway. Everything on this table was thrifted. (except my wedding silverware). The yellow Michael’s birds were 50% off when I bought them.

pink and yellow table 019 I only have two of these sweet little dishes. I have used them so many times for butter pats. I love to find little dishes like this for that reason. They just add a pretty little “extra”.

pink and yellow table 042pink and yellow table 038 I bought a pair of these pretty pink hobnail glasses at an estate sale last summer. They were so cloudy you couldn’t see through them. It took about 4 over night soaks in hot water and CLR to get them this clear. You can still see a little of the cloudiness at the base.

Well, that was my pretty pink and yellow Spring table. I hope you enjoyed it! That night for dinner, I asked the princess which plates she wanted to eat dinner with, pink or yellow. She chose yellow so, this was our dinner table. Not much of the tablescape left on the dinner table.
