A Cold and Blustery Day!

Hi everyone!

When we were at the campground last weekend winterizing our trailer, we had some serious storms come through. The winds were insane! But, of course we have to go out adventuring. We stopped at small roadside market.

My pictures are not as good as I had hoped. The wind was blowing so hard I could not keep the camera still. For that matter, I could not keep myself from tilted and being almost knocked over by the crazy wind!

You can see the intense skies.

Happy Mosaic Monday everyone!

Happy Halloween!

Happy Halloween Everyone!

This will be the first year the princcess is going to do a little trick or treating. She is so excited at this whole concept of just going up to a door and knocking then saying "Trick or Treat" and people give you candy! She has been practicing with Troy and I for the last few days! LOL Of course, after tonight I will have to break the news to her that she can't just put on her pony costume whenever she wants candy and head over to the neighbors and expect them to hand her candy. This will be disappointing! LOL

As I said, she is going to be a pony and she already loves her costume. We are starting out the evening festivities a little early. We are meeting my parents and heading out to a local Apple Farm called Apple Charlies. It's a cider mill and, of course, a free petting zoo. The princess will have a blast especially spending time with Grandma and Grandpa.

After visiting Apple Charlies, we will stop and have a little dinner and then drive to our friends house so the Princess can "T or T" there and stop at a couple of other specific houses. Then we HAVE to head back to my parents so she can "surprise" them and trick or treat at their door. Yes, she thinks she is surprising them. Then off to my brother's house. My brother lives in a subdivision and so he wants to take her around to some houses by him. Can you tell the Princess is the ONLY little one in our family? LOL

After the trick or treating fun is over we are going to a Halloween party that is being held in our little towns' Community Center.

So, we have big plans for the rest of the day here! What are your plans for this All Hallows Eve? Whatever they are, I hope you have a fun and safe night!

My question is, If I send out this post and say a big TRICK OR TREAT!! Will I be receiving candy from all of you? LOL

"Junkin' Finds"

Hi everyone!

Today is the first "Junkin' Finds" party! My friend Linda has graciously taken over Debbiedoos GARage Salen' party since Debbie is taking some time away from blogging. So, I hope you all will head over and enjoy some fun at A La Carte for Junkin' Finds!

I am also joining Miss Laurie for her "A Few of My Favorite Things" party! Go check out all the fun things going on over at her place!

A couple of weeks ago I told you about going to a Resale Store that was going out of business. They had advertised in Craigslist that they had a room full of freebies plus everything in the store was deeply discounted. I showed you several of my freebie finds. What I am showing you today are the little surprises that Troy got for me.

All of these fall items are brand new (with tags on) and the whole lot cost $2.00!! Don't you love when you find new holiday items that you would have bought at the store anyway but, find them at a thrift store for a fraction of the price? Oooh, I do! :)

A couple of stacked Maple Leaf candles. Still in their wrappers and originally $2.00 each.

3 fun canape pumpkin plates. Also originally $2.00 each.

And 2 pretty ceramic pumpkins. Of course, originally $2.00 each.

So, all total, these items would have been $14.00 at Dollar General. But, we paid $2.00. So, if you are on a tight budget like I am, you can still add new holiday decor to your home without spending a lot of money. Even if you shop at the Dollar stores, $1.00 a item can really add up to a chunk of change. So, be on the look out in odd places to find some fun things!

Frugal Magazines

I love magazines! I hate the prices! Seriously, when did magazines start costing $5.00-$12.00 a magazine? Not a year subscription but, ONE SINGLE ISSUE!  I can take my hubby and princess out for dinner for the cost of one magazine! That is insane!

But oh, all those beautiful magazines! I stand in line at the checkout and just stare at all the beautiful covers!

I actually subscribe to quite a few magazines. But, I didn’t pay a dime for any of the subscriptions! I search them out online and find free subscription offers. No credit card numbers, no gimmicks, no trial period. Just flat out free.

But, there are tons of magazines I would love to have subscriptions to but, just can’t afford it. So, what to do just short of taking a lawn chair to your local bookstore or Walmart and plan to spend the day reading magazines?

First option is to head to the library and check out however many you want. There was a particular magazine that I really enjoyed and our library didn’t carry it. I put in a request for it and they found them at another library in our system and had it sent to my local library. Also, at my library, we can do this from home. I love that!

Also, our library sells bundles of past issues of different magazines for $1.00. I always stop in and check out which magazines they have to buy. Some, I really like to keep for reference like gardening magazines.

Next, I always keep my eyes open at thrift stores or yards sales for past issues of magazines. I have gotten a lot of fun magazines that way for very little money.

Also exchange magazines with friends, family, co-workers, neighbors or church members.

If you absolutely have to buy a new magazine, buy it from a store that offers a discount.

Once you are done with the magazines, donate them. Either to the thrift store, the library, local hospital etc. Lots of places would enjoy receiving them.

A Fall Excursion

Whenever we are at the campground, we have to visit the petting zoo. The princess looks forward to it. The petting zoo is actually a farm/apple orchard. This past weekend was a major weekend at the farm for families. They had pony rides, hay wagon rides, parties going on everywhere. There were a lot of people there. The smell of fresh baked caramel donuts, hot apple cider and fresh baked bread was everywhere! So, I thought I would share some Reds I saw around for Rednesday!

While Troy took the princess to visit the animals, I ventured into the gift shop. First, I snapped some pictures of my surroundings.

Welcome to Anderson & Girls!

The Gift Store

The Ice Cream Shop

The Petting Zoo

Okay, let's head into the gift shop. First, check out some of the cuteness on the porch.
