For this week's Thrifty Tablescape, I am featuring both silver and gold on the table. GASP! And shades of blues and whites with the primary blue being periwinkle. I love periwinkle! I think it is such a beautiful color. Everything on this table was bought 2nd hand.
So, let's join the parties at Susan's "Between Naps on the Porch" for Tablescape Thursday and Leigh's party at "Tales From Bloggeritaville" for Thrifty Thursday!
Before I show you pictures, I want you to know that I have a special announcement at the end of this post. In order to find out what it is, you are gonna have to wade through all my pictures. LOL So, NO peeking!!
All right, let's get this show on the road!
I started out with a sky blue tablecloth and then placed on top of it this beautiful embroidered periwinkle runner. The ends are scalloped. So pretty! And I started the setting with a gold charger plate.

Then added two creamy white Ironstone dinner plates. You can tell that these plates were well used before I got my hands on them. But, you can't go wrong with a couple of basic white Ironstone plates!

For the salad plates, I used these gorgeous Haviland china dishes.

The blue flowers are almost a shade of slate gray blue. So pretty!

I topped the plate setting with a simple pretty glass dessert dish.

Up next would be the glasses. I used a pretty cut wine glass, a vintage gold and silver striped drinking glass and a simple aperitif glass.

A close up on the cool drinking glass.

I added napkins and a matching place mat in the center of the table. I just loved these icy sky blue polka dot linens!

Now I know these are pretty little crystal ashtrays but, I think they make beautiful little butter pat dishes! See, that's me thinking outside the box! LOL

Just to finish off the table setting, I added a creamy white coffee cup and saucer (2 different designs but, they work well together).

I found this little ceramic dish that has just a very light blue around the edges. I placed a crystal salt cellar and shell shaped salt spoon inside the dish. This is a table for two so, one salt cellar would be just fine.

Now for the finishing touches.
In the center I added a little silver nickle platter which I added two crystal candlesticks with gold candles. And this gorgeous cut glass (crystal?) dish. I love this pretty dish!

I found this little silver plated tray with matching candlesticks still in the box, seal intact at the thrift store. I LOVE the raised grape cluster design! I added a couple of midnight blue tapers.

A little white saucer with a creamer (or gravy).

A small creamy white and light blue urn vase and another white saucer. Also a milky blue glass vase wih a couple of silk tulips.

Now some random pictures of this table for two.

So? What do you think about using both silver and gold on a table? Did you like the periwinkle blue mixed with the other lighter shades of blue? I agree! I think it turned out beautiful! I am so glad you agreed with me. Why? Because..........

Yes, you read that correct! This entire month has been a big party here with lots of giveaways. Well, we are coming to the end of the month so, I wanted to end this party with a BANG!!
So, for my final giveaway to one of you, this tablescape! The ENTIRE tablescape will be shipped to you if you win! Everything, and I mean, EVERYTHING that is shown on this table is the giveaway.
I have been searching high and low for all the perfect pieces to use for this tablescape. I started planning it about 2 months ago and even knew the I wanted to use both gold and silver. And I knew it was going to be some shade of blue. When I found the goregous periwinkle table runner, that was it. My hunt was on!
This giveaway starts now and will end on Wednesday March 31, 2010.
By now, I am sure most of you know the "How to win" but, I will just add it here any way.
The winner will be picked by Random.org and I will email the winner immediately. Please make sure I can either link to your profile and get your email address or you include your email address in the comment. I will need to hear back from you within 48 hours if you win. Otherwise, a different winner will be picked.
This part I feel bad about because I have offered all of my non-sponsored giveaways to anyone, anywhere. But, unfortunately I have to limit this giveaway to the US only. The shipping cost would just be too much for me.
So, if you would like to win, just do the normal drill....
1.) Just leave a comment saying you would like to be entered
2.) Become a subscriber or follower to The Thrifty Groove and leave a SEPARATE comment. If you are already a subscriber/follower, just leave a SEPARATE comment letting me know.
3.) Blog about this giveaway on your blog. After you do, come back here and do another SEPARATE comment letting me know you did a blog post about it. if you do this, please give yourself an additional 2 more SEPARATE comments here (ex: I blogged about this giveaway. #1, Blogged #2, Blogged #3...all SEPARATE comments).
And here is the Bonus entry....Twitter or Facebook this giveaway and come back here with a link to it (if you do both, leave 2 SEPARATE comments).
That is a possibility of 7 SEPARATE entries!
