Hi everyone and Happy Blue Monday! Join me and everyone else joining Sally for Blue Monday at her blog, Smiling Sally!
Back on this Blue Monday, I posted about the pretty blue and white teacup and saucer I found for $2.99 at a thrift store. A few weeks ago when I was browsing through an antique mall, I was so excited to find a large dinnerplate and two dessert plates in the same design for $3.00 for all three pieces! Of course I snatched them up immediately! Here they are.....

I thought I would check some online sites and see if I could gather enough pieces of this pretty china to make two complete setting. Well, nobody on Ebay had any and I came up empty at several other places so, I checked Replacements, Inc.. They had them! Woohoo! Oh, wait! Holy Toledo Batman! Look at those prices!
Let's see, I paid a total of $5.99 for the 5 pieces I have. For those same 5 pieces, I would have to pay:
Dinner plate...............$11.99
(2) Salad Plates...........$27.98 ($13.99 each)
Cup and Saucer.............$11.99
Grand Total................$51.96 (not including tax and S & H!)
I think I will just keep browsing around and maybe I will spot a few more pieces here and there!
Have a great day!

ReplyDeleteDiann such a pretty pattern. What is the name? I also looked at Replacements and was stunned by the prices. Does not 'fit' into my Thrifty lifestyle! So I'll keep looking at flea markets and thrift stores for my treasures. If you tell me name of the pattern i'll keep my eyes open for you also!
